, the temperatures have dropped significantly in the last 24 hours. certainly across san antonio and dallas, texas. we have a 40-degree difference. mardi gras getting ready to be started. a 30-degree difference as well. we should be in the 80s, but we're only in the 30s. corpus criste this morning, we could see ice on the roads in the houston area. back to portions of dallas. if you're traveling on i-10 or i-35, just a little bit of ice goes a long way. we could see accidents out there if folks are not using caution on the roadways. back to the bigger picture now, dry in portions of southern california. but there's a storm pushing back to the west. and it's bringing snow into the cascades, and the rain into seattle. so it's slow going on i-5 this morning. back to you. >> groundhog day all over again. >> watching movies is part of the theater going experience, but not if you're blind. changing for deaf moviegoers, in northern california, the device uses scenes with sounds, to make movies more enjoyable for all, including the deaf and the blind. thanks for watching aljazeera america. i'm del walters

-1994 season and tonight they took on the spurs. san antonio won 99-90 over the warriors at last time. parker led the spurs and green chipped in 18 and curry had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists but had six turnovers. the sharks are going for their eighth win in nine games, facing ovechkin and the washington capitals. it was weird early. the sharks tried to clear the puck but it goes off the leg of the sharks' defenceman into the net for the first goal of the game but the sharks strike back at he makes up, getting the assist, and they tied it at one. the game went to a shoot-out, and it was a capital's win, the first win in over 20 years. the sharks have an even 100 points on the year, just one year removed from last year's game, there was another one tonight, all coming down to the final possessions, but boyd did well, the game-winning basket with 14 seconds left, and cal coach, gotly, got her 79th game, the most ever by a cal coach, and the lady bears will play baylor monday night. stanford continued its march , the second seeded team over their opponent. 23 points for the top player

warning yesterday. san antonio expecting freezing rain and drizzle tonight. san antonio, texas, in march, like it never happens, so unusually cold across the country. the west coast, you dealt with the storm a couple of days ago on friday. it added up to our rain total. here is where you stand year to date. 4 to 5 inches around l.a. looks good. almost 4 inches in san francisco. we're headed in the right directi direction. didn't get a lot around the vegas area. but we took a dent out of the big historic drought. more rain and more moisture on the way. we have a significant amount of rain coming on shore now in northern california from the pacific northwest. snow elevations are still pretty high, so mostly just a rain event from portland up i-5. driving in the rain down to medford. in northern california, we have a good chunk of rain coming on shore around eureka and crescent city. this is all good. we just continue to use as much rainfall as we can get. over the next three days, we don't really see any rainfall making into l.a., but possibly around san francisco and, of course, in the no

navarro and sam houston and others gathered not too far from san antonio and declared their independence from exico and wrote a constitution -- similar to the declaration of independence and was signed by all of them on march 2, 1836. march 2 happens to be the birthday of sam houston. imagine that. and that's the first important date. but meanwhile, assembled down the road from texas declaring independence at washington were a group of volunteers. ey were all together in this old beat up spanish church that was 150 years old at the time. it was a town called bayer and now know it as san antonio. and the place they were assembled themselves to fight off the invasion of the dictator was the almow. this is a -- alamo. this is an artist sketch the 187 volunteers defended the place. you will notice, mr. speaker, the flag that is flying over the alamo is not the lone star flag, which was the flag of the republic of texas, the flag of texas now. it's the flag of 1824. it's very similar to the mexican flag, but what the defenders had done was remove the eagle, the mexican eagle and put the words
